Ontario's Union for fairness, equality and respect at work.

Security guards, working at ASP Incorporated, have voted to join UFCW 1006A.

The 17 members work at the Metrolinx Go Station (Willowbrook rail maintenance facility).

"Becoming part of the union means having a collective voice, fair representation, and the protection of our workplace rights," said a security guard who works at ASP. "It provides us with a structured and lawful process to address concerns, improve working conditions, and ensure that all employees are treated with dignity and respect."

For the members, unionizing was also about achieving fairness, security, and respect in the workplace.

"We believe that security professionals who protect critical public infrastructure deserve stable working conditions and proper benefits for themselves and their families," said the security guard. "By coming together, we are building a stronger, more supportive workplace for everyone. We are grateful to UFCW 1006A for their guidance, professionalism, and commitment to helping us organize and move forward with confidence."

President Wayne Hanley congratulated the members on their union victory.

"UFCW 1006A is the best union in Ontario for security guards seeking fairness and protection at work," said President Wayne Hanley. "Unionization provides workers with the pathway to transform their lives and workplaces for the better. Congratulations to our newest members for their strength and solidarity in securing unionization."

"The unity, dedication and determination of the workers at ASP was inspiring and vital to their victory," said Lesley Prince, Organizing Director.

The members are now part of the local union's existing ASP bargaining unit.
