Ontario's Union for fairness, equality and respect at work.

UFCW 1006A members, activists and staff joined more than 2000 delegates across Canada for the 31st Canadian Labour Congress Convention, to organize, strategize and demonstrate the power of collective action.

Key issues discussed included:

  • Protecting Canadian jobs
  • Improving labour laws
  • Addressing affordability challenges
  • Advancing equity and inclusion
  • Supporting reconciliation with First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples
  • Defending public services

The Canadian Labour Congress notes: "Together, we will build a better future by protecting good jobs and tackling urgent challenges like climate change and the housing crisis. We will care for our communities by demanding truly universal health care, strong public services, and affordability for working families. We will fight for fairer systems where democracy, justice, and dignity are valued, and every worker has a voice. That’s what Canada’s unions do. We build, we care, and we fight for everyone."
