Tracy's Story
"UFCW 1006A represents a bridge to a better life.
In 2020, while I was home on maternity leave with my first baby, a full-time Bookkeeper position opened up at my store. In many workplaces, being away would have meant being overlooked. However, because of my union's protections, I was able to apply and secure the role - even though I wouldn't be ready to return to work for several months.
That opportunity was more than just a promotion, it was a blessing for my growing family. It provided the stability we needed during a transformative time in our lives. Being a member means knowing that my rights are protected and my growth is supported, even when I'm at home caring for my loved ones. I am deeply grateful for the security and the future this union helped me build."
